Introduction
The Department of Biochemistry was established in the later half of 2007 with the joining of the Senior Resident doctors, became a fully functional department in July 2008. The Department currently accounts for more than 75% of the Clinical laboratory investigations done at the institution. At present on an average more than 250 patients visit the biochemistry laboratory per day for various clinical investigations. Since January 2008 the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory is operating 24hrs/day providing uninterrupted and unremitting service to the patients visiting NEIGRIHMS.

Academic Activities
- Conducting Theory and Practical classes for MBBS course including Periodic Internal Assessments through Semesters
- Conducting Theory and Practical classes for B.Sc. Nursing course including Periodic Internal Assessments through Semesters
- The Department proposed to start MD courses as soon as the vacant faculty posts are filled up.
