DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY

Introduction

The Department of Psychiatry was started on the1.12.2010, with the joining of Senior Resident, Dr. Sonali Shinde Tesia.
Since there is no faculty in the Department as of now, the Department is attached to the Department of General Medicine and Dr. K.G. Lynrah, Assistant Professor; Department of Medicine is incharge of the Department.

Patient Services

OPD Service:

The Department of Psychiatry runs OPD 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday.
In addition – counseling of cases are done on Saturdays.

Inpatient Service:

Patients requiring psychiatric inpatient care are admitted in the General Medical ward.
All psychiatric referrals from different wards are seen bedside in their respective wards.

Academic Activities and Training

The senior resident of Psychiatry Department is actively engaged in teaching Under Graduates, MBBS and BSc Nursing students
